Are Bison And Buffalo The Same Thing?

My b/f always tells me that buffalo are gone and only bison are left. I thought they were the same thing and, that buffalo are still here.

In a way you are both right. Buffalo and bison are completely different animals (bison are very shaggy with a hump.) The confusion has arisen because in North America, the native bison has usually been called buffalo. You can find out more about the difference at notitia.com - this page is about the buffalo, but if you go down on the right hand side you will also find images of the bison.

In America the bison is commonly referred to as "buffalo". But in actual they both are different.
